A delegation from the Washington offices of JST, JSPS, and AMED visited North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park (RTP) to learn more about the region’s vibrant research and innovation ecosystem.

During the visit, they met with representatives from leading organizations in biotechnology, technology commercialization, and plant sciences to learn about ongoing research initiatives and discuss future directions. The meetings also provided an opportunity to explore ways to further strengthen scientific collaboration between Japan and the United States.

The visit concluded with a session for Japanese researchers based in the Triangle area, where representatives from JST, JSPS, and AMED introduced their respective funding programs and research support opportunities available to them.

Although the visit lasted just one day, it offered an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers across the Triangle region, and we look forward to continuing to deepen our relationships with organizations and researchers in this dynamic region.
