2025 NU Friends Scholarship Awarded

This year, six students applied for the NU Friends Scholarship. Following a highly competitive selection process, Mio Hattori - a fourth-year student in the Department of Molecular and Biological Chemistry, School of Engineering - was selected as the 2025 scholarship recipient. She will receive an award of $2,000.

Hello! My name is Mio Hattori, a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Department of Molecular and Biological Chemistry, School of Engineering, Nagoya University. I have been given the opportunity to travel to the United States thanks to the generous scholarship I have received. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for your warm support.
During this trip, I will participate in an international conference related to drug discovery research and visit a local laboratory.
Currently, I am conducting research aimed at further improving the efficiency of evaluation methods for new drug development.
This field is expected to have applications in drug discovery and regenerative medicine, and it is actively discussed worldwide.Through this opportunity, I hope to learn how my research is positioned in an international context, and by encountering different perspectives and technologies, I look forward to gaining new insights and inspiration.
I will do my best to ensure that this valuable experience not only contributes to my personal growth but also benefits Nagoya University and the next generation of students.
