Aging and the Family Faculty Symposium at UNC Chapel-Hill
October 14, 2025

Aging and the Family Faculty Symposium was held from October 14–16 at the Carolina Union, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
This three-day event, co-hosted by UNC Global Affairs, the UNC Center for Aging and Health, and Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine, brought together experts from medicine, nursing, public health, and social work to explore innovative approaches to aging and family support.
The symposium fostered rich dialogue between Japanese and American perspectives through presentations, workshops, and networking sessions, generating new insights into how communities can better support aging individuals and their families across cultures.
We sincerely thank the Japan Foundation for their generous support, as well as all speakers and participants who made this event a success.
